The Top 5 Games of E3 2018
We all know the biggest gaming event of the year is over. We’ve invited Matt, our E3 specialist to compile a list of the Top 5 Games of E3 2018. Here is the list compiled in ascending order!
The game is set to release in November of 2018.
5. Fallout 76
Although Fallout 76 was announced before the start of E3 2018, we got an in-depth look at it at developer Bethesda's press conference. The game is a mixture of Fallout experiences both new and old, combining the expected narrative and quest structure with a persistent online world. Players will be able to explore a nuclear wasteland at their leisure, creating settlements and gathering resources as they attempt to survive the newly-formed land. You'll be able to interact with other players as you come across them, whether they be friend or foe. One of the most surprising aspects of the game is the inclusion of nuclear weapons, which you can launch from four different silos around the map, destroying anything and everything in its wake. The game is set to release in November of 2018.
Expect the game to launch in 2019.
4. The Last of Us 2
This sequel to the breakout PlayStation 3 classic The Last of Us promises an even more violent and emotional story than before. The trailer that was shown at PlayStation E3 Experience was lengthy and interesting, and showed fan-favorite character Ellie in the middle of the dangerous mission. While not much is known about the actual story of the game, everyone was absolutely blown away by the quality of detail in the game's visuals and animations. There's a certain lifelike aspect to the visuals that developer Naughty Dog is able to produce with their games, and The Last of Us 2 looks to push those limits even further. As a sequel to one of the best selling and highest acclaimed games of all time, there's no doubt that The Last of Us 2 will exceed expectations and be one of the best games of the year. There's no release date as of yet, but fans can probably expect the game to launch in 2019.
Disney and friends.
3. Kingdom Hearts 3
Fans have been begging developer Square Enix to release Kingdom Hearts 3 for decades. The sequel to the PlayStation 2 franchise has been in development for some time, and this E3 gave us the most in-depth look we've seen yet. Several new trailers for the game were shown, as well as a playable version that was available on the show floor. The new trailers gave us a look into the worlds that we will be exploring, with Disney favorites like the Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters Inc, Toy Story, and more. The game will have players exploring a wide variety of Disney locales in an effort to save their friends. This long-awaited sequel is slated for release in January of 2019.
The game launches in December of 2018.
2. Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
It's no secret that Super Smash Brothers is one of the most popular fighting and party games of all time. Ever since Nintendo released their newest console, the Switch, fans of the franchise have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of a new entry in the series. Super Smash Brothers Ultimate is one of the biggest Super Smash Brothers titles yet, containing every character to appear in the franchise thus far. That gives players over 64 different characters to choose from, stretching across the long pantheon of Nintendo's history. The developers of the game promised that thousands of changes have been made, balancing out character power and providing new and exciting features. While we got an exceptionally long look at the roster of characters and their moves, the modes included in the game have yet to be seen. Will surely find out more about the full package before the game launches in December of 2018.
If you're excited to grab Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, we recommend downloading it digitally from the Nintendo store, that way you have the game as soon as it's available. Their newest game, Cyberpunk 2077, takes place in the near future in a world that's full of chaos, cybernetic augmentation, and more.
