'Make 47 Kill Again:' Hitman 2 (2018) Officially Announced
Few video game characters have made assassinations as dignified and graceful as IO Interactive’s Agent 47. The renowned assassin, within his own franchise, has murdered his way across five (5) previous titles and will be reprising his killer role in Hitman 2 (2018); a direct sequel to Hitman (2016), the 6th entry in the Hitman series. The gist of the gameplay in Hitman (2016) (and the whole Hitman series in general) is that 47 travels to a variety of locations spanning the globe to carry out contractually arranged hits. According to publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s announcement trailer, that experience will now be more diverse and involved.
The trailer boasts of being able to track targets across 6 new locations.
Hitman 2 (2018) is slated for release on the 13th November 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. As a direct sequel, it will continue developing 47’s story, including a deeper glimpse into his past. Hitman (2016) was a somewhat unique entry in the Hitman series, in that it was periodically updated via live content. Hitman 2 (2018), however, will have its entire plot revealed on 11/13/2018. [This, of course, does not mean that the game will not have downloadable content (“DLC”). Quite the contrary; DLC, such as additional locations to play in, is assuredly coming and will be released over time, which is how DLC is ordinarily released.]
During WB Games’ reveal stream, it was noted that Hitman 2 (2018) will contain “hyper – detailed sandboxes full of living, breathing environments,” and that the environment itself would be more central to the core gameplay, because, “everything in the environment can be deadly.” Hitman has never been shy in its exploration of the world’s different countries; this time around, Miami, Florida will be specially highlighted in Hitman 2 (2018), since an international motorsport race (as seen in the announcement trailer) will be of pivotal importance to the game’s story. Hitman 2 (2018)’s other location’s will range from “sun – drenched streets to dark and dangerous rainforests.”
Miami will be specially highlighted in Hitman 2.
As for the ways in which the game can be played, Hitman 2 (2018) will include new features and modes. To accompany the announcement trailer, another trailer was released to showcase one of the new modes: ‘Sniper Assassin,’ where another player can be enlisted online to help 47 carry out hits. This mode can also be played by a single player. ‘Sniper Assassin’ is available to play as of today, the 7th June 2018, as an incentive to pre – order Hitman 2 (2018). Last, but not least, the game’s story will explore a mission to “eliminate the elusive Shadow Client and unravel his militia, but when 47 learns his target’s true identity and the truth about his past, it changes everything.”
